Bought a Miele 4 years ago and replaced the wand less than a year ago. I put up with the first one for a long time before finally replacing it. It's often used to clean up after 4 kids and a dog, but that's no excuse given the price of this vacuum and spare head. There is always something caught in the exposed wire (lint and pet hair) and sometimes they cannot be removed. This causes you to break the wand again while trying to clean it. I'm so tired. Design the best Miele! I'd rather not deploy the wand than have this problem. However, you cannot use it when it is shortened, as the wire takes up the entire hose when it is shortened. There were no problems with the vacuum cleaner, but the wand is so ridiculous that I refuse to change it again.
