If you're not good with computing devices and need a timer, this is the easiest thing to use. I bought several timers and couldn't figure out how to set them up. It's so frustrating. I had to send them back. After reading reviews of these "Century" timer surge protector power strips, I ordered 2 of these. They are manual and very easy to install. They have 8 sockets that you can use. Or you can use the timer setting on 4 of them and use the other 4 for constant power. I use them in my aquariums. i love it very much I used one to use on 2 timed tank fires. I have 2 filters and 2 heaters on the constant wattage side. So with just one of these timed extensions I set up 2 low light tanks and ran them with timed lighting. I kept forgetting to turn off the light which caused a terrible algae problem. I cleaned the tanks, removed the algae and now they are in this timer extension. My plants get the right photosynthesis time (8 hours) of light every day and they grow fast and healthy. The second one I ordered is set for medium to high light in the 45 and 60 gallon living room aquariums. They'll also grow fast and healthy because they get the same 9-hour light every day thanks to the Century 8 surge-protected power strip. You aquarium lovers know how important it is to provide your plants with the right amount of light to keep them healthy and your fish to stay healthy in the water. I will definitely be buying 2 more of these timers for my last 2 tanks in other rooms. My life has become much easier, my plants and fish are much healthier and happier, I would give this product 10 stars if possible. I highly recommend this product. Their customer service is just as outstanding as their products. Customer service also gets 10 stars.
