This is a great inexpensive timer extension. I bought this to automate turning my aquarium lights on and off (to ensure low stress levels for my fish and enough light for my aquatic plants to thrive). Bought to replace another mechanical timer. The original timer reached a state where the little motor would stop once it reached the point where it had to switch from on to off or off to on. Constraints, I chose mechanical. Big mistake, this one let me down in less than two months. Switching from off to on was not possible. The dial, driven by the motor, was just at the switching point.
