Great for my reptile terrarium

I bought this to light up my bearded dragon terrarium. He turns the light on in the morning and off at night. This works very well. I like that it has many outlets. It shows the time accurately, unlike some others on the market. Since it's in my bedroom, one of the biggest considerations for me when choosing it was how loud the timer would be. You only hear it if you press your ear to the timer, and even then it's just a low hum. When it turns on the light in the morning it makes a faint…

Fun concept

I've had several Titan Controls Apollo 14 timers. I've had occasions where they would overload the power button for no reason and it was annoying. When I needed more, I decided to try Century. I thought the cases looked the same, including the mounting slots on the back. One thing is for sure, compared to the Titan ECU the lights are really bright. UPDATE: After 6 weeks of use one of these timers let me down. It's quite sad when something like this can hurt you and ruin a good day. The power…

Ideal for automating aquarium lighting.

This is a great inexpensive timer extension. I bought this to automate turning my aquarium lights on and off (to ensure low stress levels for my fish and enough light for my aquatic plants to thrive). All you have to do is set the time and click on the pins to set the timer. 4 outlets are connected to a timer and the other 4 have constant power so I plug the aquarium filter and heater into permanent outlets while the timer controls the lights which saves me the trouble of remembering. that…

**Second edit 1/13/18

This timer is great for turning the lights on and off in my son's reptile cage. The only problem is that it has developed an annoying vibrating/rattling noise that never stops and really gets on my nerves. It's not very loud but enough to be disturbing, especially if it's in the bedroom. Ten stars for excellent customer service! **Edited: Unfortunately the new timer started making the same rattling noise. I've tried repositioning it and putting a mat underneath in case it's a vibration issue…

Dead on arrival - buyers beware!

Cheap junk. Already dead when we got here. It works like a surge protector, but the timer is cheap crap. When I first saw the negative reviews I figured that as with most products, they were in the minority. You're right. One person said they went through 6 in one year and I believe them. They look cheap and light. I'm not surprised that it's unreliable, but what really surprises me is that another company hasn't jumped on it and released a high-end model that performs a similar function. It's…

Super easy to use extension cord with timer!

If you're not good with computing devices and need a timer, this is the easiest thing to use. I bought several timers and couldn't figure out how to set them up. It's so frustrating. I had to send them back. After reading reviews of these "Century" timer surge protector power strips, I ordered 2 of these. They are manual and very easy to install. They have 8 sockets that you can use. Or you can use the timer setting on 4 of them and use the other 4 for constant power. I use them in my…

Cheap Chinese tax motor? (However, support refunded the money)

Bought to replace another mechanical timer. The original timer reached a state where the little motor would stop once it reached the point where it had to switch from on to off or off to on. Constraints, I chose mechanical. Big mistake, this one let me down in less than two months. Switching from off to on was not possible. The dial, driven by the motor, was just at the switching point. Not enough current to continue to switch from off to on. I wish I could pay extra and go digital. I ended up…

Great two-in-one device at a great price; 4ft cable (not 6ft)

I ordered this surge protector to clear up the clutter around my TV. With a cable modem, wireless router, cordless phone, and other devices, this place looked awful. Century's surge protector solved my dilemma perfectly. Has 8 sockets; four that can be set with the timer function and four that which are activated at any time when the overvoltage protection is activated. The sockets are perfectly positioned so you can connect all kinds of plugs of different shapes to them and not block other…

  • Not working

UPDATE: I bought my first one in May 2016; After about a year it started making a really annoying constant clicking/crunching noise. It still works perfectly, just makes a very annoying noise. In my original review, I noticed that it used to make a faint noise that most people didn't seem to hear at all; This sound is now a loud clicking sound that is clearly audible to everyone in the room. The unit is in my bedroom, so it's not a big deal, but I'll probably have to replace it; I have my…
