The only complaint about this mount is that it doesn't come with mounting hardware. I consider this type of product as a shock absorber. It should come with mounting pins, washers, grommet, C-clamps, etc. Maybe I'm asking too much. Installation note for those unfamiliar with it; You'll need an assistant to hold the back door or a stick to prop it up. Once you remove the support bar from one side, the other doesn't have enough buoyancy to hold the tailgate. I'm tall and kept the back door on my head, which worked fine until one of the pucks fell on the garage floor. If someone had helped me with the tailgate, I probably wouldn't have dropped the window. Anyway, now my tailgate lifts fully and I don't have to push it. My 4runner is from 1999.
