So far I like this wet food very much. We have fed him for the past two weeks. I add a scoop to my dog twice a day to entice him to eat it. When she first left the shelter (3 weeks ago) she didn't eat much. Now she eats kibble better but she likes it so let's move on. I like that I understand the composition of wet food better than dry food. Although I intend to add dry food for dental health, I have to spend a lot less time figuring out what ingredients are in wet food. This list is simple: it's mostly meat and grains (see my reasons below). By feeding my dog a mix of wet and dry food I hope he is getting a good overall nutritional mix, although I am no expert I put a lot of thought and effort into choosing what is right for my dog. I worked for a vet (just a secretary) who was very interested in grains in dog food. His take on the whole discussion was that there was no evidence in the medical journals that grains were bad for dogs, and we still haven't fully understood why some grain-free diets are being linked to heart disease in dogs, so he might . I don't recommend them. I'm excited to see what the researchers will find out. But until there's a better understanding of why certain grain-free foods are linked to heart disease, I plan to avoid them. I appreciate the wet food option that gives me the ability to make that choice. Every time I go down the rabbit hole of dog food research, I'm frustrated by the extreme difference in ratings. I'm by no means an expert, just someone who wants to do the right thing with my new family member. My dog's stool, appetite and coat have improved since she left the shelter and was introduced to the Purina One Insistence Salmon Diet on this fish oil supplemented wet food. I think all I can say is if my dog is happy with this choice then so am I.
