Great quality pad for a great price

I'm not sure why some reviews indicate that the thickness is less than advertised. Perhaps they source the materials from different vendors across time. The one I received was very good quality and greater than 1/4" in thickness - more like 5/8". This makes my inexpensive area rug feel very plush and nice. It's a great way to add comfort and the illusion of a more expensive rug. I have experienced no slipping, and it's nice and stable on my wood floors.

This is a great pad and 1/4 in was sufficient for a medium thickness wool rug. However the nonslip side is quite rough and I did not risk that on my wood floors. I simply placed the pad upside down. I used a ruler to mark and then cut to fit the rug. It cut quite easily with good scissors.
