i am a little firefighter and was a bit scared at first when i tried on this vest. it was *tight*, even I measured my chest. However, it's actually okay if I only wear a vest. However, if you intend to wear this vest over another suit, you MUST order one size larger. I'm 68" tall with a short torso and this vest *barely* reaches my shorts. Keep the vest from riding up when you're swimming circles or snorkeling or just snorkeling. Also, the armholes are a bit small ( but not too small) for my large shoulders (from the morning swim). Just note: short torso length, no waist loop and small arm slits. Swim a mile without fret. You have to sew on a loop. I made; see Photo - took a short piece of black paracord, melted the ends together, then sewed the back bottom seam ( ran the machine back and forth a dozen times) - voila! much better! but since these vests are zippered and good sewn with good construction I give it a 4 star rating and if I wear out after a year I'll order another one!
