We LOVE that it makes AMAZING grill marks on hot dogs! I read all the reviews before purchasing and I'm shocked no one mentioned this! And it's not just a Heater Upper hot dog LOL! There is a BIG difference in using these compared to a microwave. First THE Grill Brands LOL Sorry this just tickles me and I'm in love with this exact feature :) The hot dog doesn't get "gummed" like it does in the microwave. We cook ours on level 5 and it browns perfectly on the outside and keeps all the juices. This little hot dog toaster brings you perfectly juicy hot dogs every time. It also toasts the inside of the bun but leaves it perfectly moist and soft on the outside - AMAZING! We've learned the hard way that whatever you do, you should NOT put cheddar stuffed sausage in this little son of a bitch. My son made this (it was one of his birthday gifts). The cheese spilled all over making an interesting mess on the bottom and was painful to peel :( so don't do what we did. Also, sausages in general tend to be a lot bigger and they won't pop out properly. Hold on regular hot dogs or bun length hot dogs as this machine is designed to cook them to perfection. As other reviewers have said your toaster will smoke the first 2 or 3 times It is not recommended to use a hot dog the first 2 times to eat that was cooked in a toaster as it is saturated with the penetrating smell of burnt plastic. Yes. That's how it smelled the first few times. We put the hot dog and a bun (only one) in the toaster, set it on low and turned on the toaster 3 times then we threw that hot dog away then we loaded it with two and set the setting to 5 and honestly it was like eating a hot dog at a baseball game. boiled, baked in the oven or cooked in a pot on the stove. This gift was supposed to be for my son, but it's so cool that even though I don't normally eat hot dogs, I found myself overeating. I am very impressed and happy with this purchase. As this was bought for my son to have upstairs in his playroom kitchen area I am now buying another for me and MY kitchen :)
