I chose two of these for a home automation and security project. They both trigger when they move, but also false alarms constantly throughout the day. I put one in the hallway and the other in my closed office. When no one is home, my office goes out about 4-5 times a day. The one at the entrance fires about every 45 seconds and there is absolutely no movement in its field of view. I tried putting it in a closet with the same result. There are options to set up temperature and humidity alerts, but they don't seem to be working properly either. The alarms are fixed at 64° and 122°, so don't think about placing them outdoors, in the sun, in a garage or basement.
