I read some reviews of random orbital sanders and decided I would prefer DeWalt; Many other highly rated brands had rating issues and I wanted a 3 amp unit. I kept DeWalt on the list, but by the time it came time to buy it, it was gone. Sold out online, sold out in local stores. I don't know why, but he's gone. Going back through the reviews, I found that this unit was the same product as DeWalt (a non-speed control version that my application didn't need) sold under the Craftsman brand. . It works well, does exactly what I want; It seems to be a quality instrument, plus a bit of nostalgia factor with the Craftsman. And it was a little cheaper. And all that being said - a recurring problem with this unit that was mentioned in the reviews was that it wouldn't connect to the 1 1/4 vacuum hose. It only took a few minutes to wrap some good sized rubber bands around my vacuum hose and insert it into the grinder. It stays in place and creates an adequate seal. This is easily solved without spending time and money.
