I bought it because it was well reviewed and initially delivered as promised. It was quiet (important to me as I used it in the sleeping area) and had a reasonable rollover protection system (a 'button' on the bottom that needs to be pressed to the floor for the heater to work). The front grille got quite hot in normal use but that's logical, I was just trying to keep it away from all fabrics etc. Overall I was very satisfied for the first month. Then a week or two after that. For the first month, as usual, I fell asleep with the heating on the lowest setting. When I woke up, the room was cold and smelled terribly of burnt plastic. The heater still felt very hot, but the fan wasn't blowing. Instead, everything smelled like electric fire. I unplugged it and took it out of the room, although I'm concerned about how much burnt plastic I may have inhaled. About a week later I tried again, this time in a well-lit, well-ventilated area. The fan was completely dead at all settings, and case heating appeared to be due to a short circuit rather than normal operation of the heating element. The smell of burning returned almost immediately. I unplugged the thing and (once it was completely cold) threw it in the trash. While it's better than other heaters I've had in many ways (good thermostat, good ROPS, very quiet operation), all other heaters I've had have survived many seasons of normal use. This didn't even last two months, after which it turned into a dangerous box with short circuits and smoldering plastic.
