02/27/2019 I have had these lights for 6 months and they no longer work. No matter what mode or color I try to choose, there is only one mode I can choose - the shimmering multicolored option. I can no longer select spot colors or other modes. I've tried using both the remote control and the button on the light base but nothing works. Now I have to look for a more reliable set of bulbs to replace them because I definitely won't be buying them again. I would advise against anyone thinking of buying them. November 3, 2018 I've had it for a little over 2 months and the remote control is already starting to fail. One button doesn't work very well and has been getting worse and worse over the past few weeks. I have to press about 10 times before the light finally comes on. I expect it to stop working completely in the next month or two. For that reason, and for the cons I mentioned in my original review, I no longer recommend them. August 22, 2018 I used clear light control hooks to hang on the walls and used some extra strips to hang the light control box on the wall closest to the outlet. I mention this because between the transparent hooks and thin wire you can't see anything but light when the room is dark, which is a huge plus. The colors are beautiful and the light is very bright, especially for such a small bulb. There are also many different modes to choose from, from single color to multicolor. I have a feeling the lighting may need some improvement. First, there's no orange color to choose from, although there's an orange button on the remote. You can choose red, green, two shades of blue, purple and white, so the lack of orange seems odd. The box says they're good for occasions like Halloween, but I'm not sure how it could be without the orange. There's also a color that's supposed to be yellow but is actually just another shade of green. While there are plenty of modes to choose from, it lacks the level of customization I was hoping for. For example, I would like a combination of red and green for Christmas, a combination of red, white and blue for the 4th of July, or a combination of purple and orange (if orange existed) for Halloween. Unfortunately none of this is possible. There are several multicolor options, but all consist of each individual color without any adjustment. It would be better if we could choose which colors we want to display other than one color. Light sources also have a noticeable disadvantage. In multi-color modes, the lights shimmer in a rainbow of shimmering colors. This lasts 15 to 20 seconds, then all lights go out for a split second before the pattern repeats. They only switch off briefly, but this is very noticeable and spoils the effect a bit. In general, I am very satisfied with the backlight. I added the date to my review because one of the other reviews said the light didn't last long before it stopped working. I hope mine lasts for years, but only time will tell. I would recommend remote control.
