I tried to give this document a chance. It was nice to be able to use 1 cable to charge my MacBook and also as an extra port replicator/video output. However, you will need to disconnect and reconnect the USB-C cable every time you boot. Otherwise, video and all USB devices will not work. In fact, the MacBook doesn't even recognize the dock. You can just leave your MacBook asleep/docked and it will work just fine, but what's the point? I originally paid: $264.50 for this item. The price seems to have dropped significantly. I wonder why You'd better do this: Apple USB-C to USB AdapterApple USB-C Charging Cable (2m)Apple USB-C 30W Power AdapterApple Power Adapter Extension Cable (for MacBook Pro, MacBook, MacBook Air) Dell USB 3.0 Dock Ultra HD/ 4K Triple Display (D3100) Black Total price: $252.67 This setup lets you restart, turn off, and put your MacBook to sleep without any issues.
