This is an easy-to-use USB-C to DisplayPort adapter. I just plugged the USB-C end into a USB-C port (no worries about the right orientation like the old USB standard) on my Dell laptop and a DisplayPort cable to it and my Dell 2560 display x 1440 dpi connected. There were some issues with the adapter, not because of the adapter but because of the DisplayPort cable I used with the adapter. (I didn't connect the DisplayPort cable securely enough for my monitor to register.) As soon as I wiggled a few things, my monitor registered and I was able to use my monitor in all its glory at full resolution. The adapter's materials feel solid but are fairly standard: It has a plastic body and braided cable, but the USB-C tip and DisplayPort adapter are solid. There are no fancy features or materials here, like a braided fabric sleeve or a gold-plated tip. I bought this adapter because my monitor couldn't support 2560 x 1440 dpi over HDMI, so I needed to use a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C compatible port. . Most adapters in this price range only support 4k, but this one supports up to 8k for under $20, which I think is a good deal and a good option for the future. I will continue to use the adapter as long as I have a new laptop and will use it when I upgrade my monitor to a 4k monitor. I'll probably never go above 60hz because I don't play competitive games, but I'm glad I have the option to boost 120hz at 4k.
