Purchased primarily to scan receipts. Works great for the most part. By default, has a button to start a predefined scan. I only found two very small negatives: 1. The scanner assumes the paper is jammed if the check is too long. I had to scan some receipts in half (usually grocery store receipts). Detecting excessive roller motor current draw during an actual paper jam can be better than just depending on the length of paper being used.2. The button to start scanning seems to be manually polled by the computer at a fairly slow rate by default. The button had to be pressed for about 1 second or longer depending on how busy the computer was. If the key is released too quickly (like normal typing speed), the scanner driver doesn't even know the key was pressed. The scanner firmware must capture or store the state of the button and report it to the computer when prompted.
