Excellent customer support got me started

I chose the DS-30 scanner because it is very small and fits in the very limited space I had for the side scanner. The main issue for me is the age of this design. I'm using it with a fairly new iMac running OSX=10.13.6 and the software you run with the scanner - the interactive user interface - is 32-bit, not 64-bit like all recent Mac software. The device did not turn on when I first installed it. It turned out to be a software configuration issue. I tried calling Epson support on the number…

Great portable scanner

Ideal for documents especially legal sized, receipts, cards, checks etc anything that is not letter sized (it works great for letter too Format). This scanner creates very nice images or PDF files that are sized to fit the size of the document. My more expensive tablet doesn't (although it has other advantages). You might be able to squeeze it into a laptop bag, but fitting it into a regular suitcase certainly won't be a problem. With software, as usual with scanners, a mess. But as far as…

Good for scanning small batches

I use it every day at work and it's not too bad. Pros: It's small and easy to store on my desk. Easy enough to set up with instructions. Handy if you need to crawl a page here or there during the day. Disappointments: They only give you a damp cleaning cloth. I had to use it within the first month of owning the scanner to remove a streak that was showing up on all my scans so I'll be unlucky if it happens again. Not suitable for scanning multiple pages at once. Sometimes the program freezes and

Works great for the most part.

Purchased primarily to scan receipts. Works great for the most part. By default, has a button to start a predefined scan. I only found two very small negatives: 1. The scanner assumes the paper is jammed if the check is too long. I had to scan some receipts in half (usually grocery store receipts). Detecting excessive roller motor current draw during an actual paper jam can be better than just depending on the length of paper being used.2. The button to start scanning seems to be manually…
