Bought to make a candle holder for my wife. She likes the "Cup Candles" behind Sandra Bullock in Lake House when she appears to be standing in a restaurant. This bowl is very similar to the one in the movie. The glass is quite thick so there isn't much chance of it breaking if you handle it carefully. I'm just saying it's not a breakable bowl. There are artefacts in the glass - little bubbles here and there - which I don't want, but my wife says it adds character to the bowl. Even if you sit at right angles, usually at eye level, and look into the shell, it appears slightly milky white. It's not bad, you just have to be aware of it. As a cachepot or goldfish tank, that's no problem, it has a candle for that.
