
The nested threads idea is good on paper, but doesn't work for damper rods where the threads don't start at the very top of the rod. The hole is not drilled deep enough to engage the threads because the shaft is pushing against the back of the hole. Sloppy design work, it would take 1 extra second to drill it deeper while they turn them on the CNC lathes. If you are unsure whether the threads on your damper rod start at the top of the shaft rather than further down, don't buy this. I learned this the hard way, having already disassembled the entire front end of the bike. (2013 FZ8)
