Read This - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

If you don't have one of these STOP SEARCHING and buy this one. As a professional chef, I have searched for and tried every imaginable pocket thermometer. including other Cooper Atkins models. This is by far the best value for money. Don't waste your money by buying something cheaper or more expensive. That's all you need from a thermometer. If this is your first thermometer then you have made the right choice. It's also good that you bought a thermometer. This will change your cooking game EVERYTHING. please stop cooking Depending on the time, please stop cooking food cooked on fire. "But it says cook for four minutes on each side!" Don't be stupid. You're not baking pies in an environmentally controlled oven, you're cooking a steak, a steak that has too many cooking options to list here. Did you know breads and cakes can be tempered instead of guessing with toothpicks? Did you know that comparing cooked/eaten meat to different degrees of contraction in your arm muscles isn't the best way to guess your level of readiness? If this "shortcut" were even slightly easier or more accurate than using a thermometer, then it wouldn't be a shortcut; that would be the "way". I absolutely ABUSED these thermometers. I mean everything from bending and tossing to being dropped into a 350 degree commercial fryer. At home it will last you forever, including the battery. Pro tip: The holster serves as an extension for the end of the thermometer. I'm not sure what they represent or explain. Only the tip of the thermometer shows the temperature. Don't worry if you can barely stick it in a fish fillet. The thermocouple is enough to send readings to the robot's brain. When looking for an accurate temperature, make sure to place the tip in the center of the object to be measured and take measurements in multiple locations. Only one negative I can think of: it's very heavy and practically unusable when buttoned tightly between the buttons of your chef's jacket or even in the slits on the shoulders.

Pros
  • Measures temperatures from -40 to +450 degrees F (-40 to +232 degrees C) with an accuracy of + or - 1 degree F (+ or - 0.5 degrees C) from 32 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit (0 to 100 degrees Celsius)
Cons
  • Not sure
