Small, tough and responsive

For years we've been looking for a kitchen and grill temperature sensor that gives fast readings and doesn't fail after a wash. This is the unit we were looking for. Water ingress has been a big problem with other probes, but this one seems designed to fix the problem (unless you wet it with water to clean it). The body of the probe is rigid and the whole unit is very durable. continuous. The yellow case is a bit off in terms of kitchen decor, but rest assured you won't lose it. Reading is very

Easy to use but pay attention to accuracy.

Update: I emailed Cooper-Atkins the day I noticed the thermometer was overheating. Literally the next day they replied and said they would send a replacement. Excellent customer service. So I give this product four stars. It's easy to use, and if the new thermometer is accurate (see the original review below), then it's a good thermometer. Btw, I bought it for $16 and now I see the price has more than doubled. You may want to create a price tracker (e.g. on CamelCamelCamel.com) to wait for the…

Fast and accurate Easy to read

This advertises the best accuracy in a broader range of cooking including frying and confectionery. I use it on the grill for unusual and complex dishes to determine the right degree of doneness. like a whole chicken and a boneless leg of lamb. Also suitable for steaks with bones. Once inserted, the final reading is so quick that I can take multiple readings and get an eyeball average — all without reading glasses thanks to the large, easy-to-read display. There's no backlight, so you'll have…

Damaged products: kitchen and dining room

This thermometer is best for checking the temperature of frozen food. The tiny probe easily penetrates frozen meat. The packaging is in very bad condition. Most packages are already corrupted. Bought 16 at once. The temperature difference of all 16 blocks is below 1F.2019 on May 25th. To date I have purchased over 50 Cooper Atkins DPP 800W thermometers from this seller. one out of 50 arrived with a damaged probe. Another thermometer has detected a problem with the auto power on/off. Another…

Tested two side by side at min and max and the reading was within degrees F

It's pretty cool. I bought two, one for me and my wife. They are pretty close to the same reading. Usually a degree or two F. I've tested them in the dishwasher and in the fridge for min max. They both had very similar readings, so I'm happy. I've used them to check our kettle water, hot water, red meat, chicken, etc. I will also use them to measure the ambient temperature in the garage and at work. The temperature adjusts faster under running water than outdoors, but that's to be expected…

Exactly but. Best in Instant-Read

5 stars for accuracy and plastic quality but the min/max hold function is tricky to do as you hold the moment resetting the readings, it immediately records the current ambient temperature as a valid record. So if you want to record the min/max temperature in the freezer during the defrosting process, you must first put the thermometer in the freezer for a while and then activate the min/max temperature function while it is still in the freezer. Also the 2 small buttons for min/max and hold are
