I purchased this tip after my Freud tip had a nick on one corner. I'll use this drill bit to make a tongue and groove on the two doors that I'll be inserting the glass into. When working with maple, I made it very slow and flat on each pass. On the second 3/16 inch door this part exploded. It doesn't look like the carbide parts are poorly bonded. Luckily the workpiece wasn't so badly damaged that I couldn't repair it with a deeper cut. Not one to skimp on tools, but I've learned the hard way that you get what you pay for
