To configure as 1-wire, connect the output connector to the right connector (facing the back of the device with the connector pair facing up). The left connection for the fault lamp can be ignored unless the rotor has been completely degaussed. In this case you will need to flash this terminal with 12 volts or connect the fault lamp to the switch side of the ignition switch: this will also be flashed. Note that connecting the test lead directly to the battery compensates for the voltage drop in the cable between the output and the battery. Any timing (changing the relationship between the terminals and mounting lugs by turning the end of the pulley on the stator) These alternators need to pull the rotor all the way out and install the wire holding the brushes before assembling the alternator in the new orientation: the cable will be of Pulled out from behind to reveal brushes. Attempting to sync the alternator by spreading it out just enough to rotate the front of the stator will usually break the rear brush and/or the back of the brush holder, as happened on my "acceptable" used unit in the stock of Revain was the case. I bought a replacement part so cheaply that it was worth keeping the device instead of returning it and buying a new device.
