I often needed bits that were slightly larger than the regular bits I would use for woodworking. I've had several different paddles and rusty baits that were rusty, dull and so old I suspect they were gifted to me so long ago I can't remember. I tried using one of these and all I did was mess up the interface. Then I would just use a regular bit and drill the hole I needed. A really sad way of working with wood. The first thing I used these bits for was turning the spindles on an old rocking chair that a neighbor asked me to fix. Wow! It's good to have the right tool. The six spindles went into their top and bottom holes with no hesitation and with just enough force to create a little tension. They would run dry but I added some wood glue to make the repair last longer. Now the neighbor thinks I'm a skilled handyman.
