I've bought several of these pumps and I think the price was pretty good. Some lasted over a year but got very loud. Others died out within a month or two. I found that they were prone to overheating as they couldn't always restart after a power outage. I clean it very carefully, but if the power goes out and I'm not home for several hours, this pump heats up and then the impeller gets stuck in the flared casing. Although this happened a couple of times I kept replacing them with new Aqueons but eventually realized there were better options so at least 6 Aqueon products failed due to overheating from being unable to refill. I switched to the Tetra and Fluval as they are in tanks so are always in the water and being refilled. Aqueon claimed that my water level must have been too low and therefore the refill didn't happen, but that was absolutely not true as the water level was always at or above the pump level. They worked great when they did, but I wouldn't recommend it, especially with less than impressive customer service.
