Well, I'll admit right away that while I buy almost everything in my life from Revain, I rarely write reviews. In fact, this might be my first. Shit, I know, but most of what I buy are everyday necessities, so it never seems like a big deal. Well I literally ran to write this review after using this product for the first time today. For two years I have been living in a rural area with terribly hard water. My hair and skin paid the price. To be honest I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my hair. I've always had fine, soft, manageable hair (never thick, great hair), but it was still ok. My hair took color well and looked decent when I took the time to style it. Well, over time, especially in the last year, my hair has become brittle, dull, lifeless, greasy at the roots and very dry at the ends. It literally looked like straw. The color looked coppery and cheap and looked terrible even with the styling. It also started falling out and breaking. I thought I was sick or it was caused by stress. Finally, the hairstylist mentioned that she thought my hair had been damaged by hard water. She recommended an Aveda product that I used regularly but didn't notice any change. Eventually I gave up and just decided that if I had the money I would buy a shower filter. While researching them I came across this product and decided to give it a try in the meantime. I'm so glad I did. When it arrived I opened it up and used all three products exactly as directed. Then I dried my hair with a hair dryer, but without any special styling products. My hair is BACK! Just like that, my hair is soft, manageable, no knots, no straw etc. I couldn't believe it. Too bad I didn't find this product two years ago! I can't believe my hair looks and feels this good after just one treatment. It really took all the dirt out of my hair that was ruining it. I still have to cut my hair and still plan to invest in a shower filter but this is an amazing product for me now and in the future. By the way, a few weeks ago I was so annoyed with my hair that I ordered high quality hair dye online and dyed it myself one night. (I usually do salon coloring and highlights, but I didn't want to wait—my hair was like blonde straw. I figured if it were a little darker it might look better.) I ordered a golden chestnut color, well, imagine. my shock when my hair turned black. Literally a very dark chocolate brown/black. I just lived with it and decided once I got my new shower filter to sort the color in the stall. Well when I blow dried my hair after using this product for the first time my hair got lighter! This is exactly the golden brown color that should come first. I think all the buildup in my hair ruined the color or somehow darkened it. I can't believe the difference. I don't want to promise results like this every time, but I definitely recommend using this product before coloring at home so all that residue in your hair doesn't ruin your color! BONUS!
