Review on Capresso 485 05 10 Cup Programmable Thermal by Megan Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ticks all the boxes!

I'm pretty picky about my coffee - I used to roast and grind beans but now I'm too busy for all that. My previous coffee maker was a Capresso 471 which I bought over 15 years ago and which still works as well as it used to, but doesn't look as good as it did when new, so we bought a Capresso MT600. I'll list the pros and cons (although all the cons are negligible to me): PROs Has a thermos like a coffee pot, rather than a glass jug. I found this important as glass carafe makers have a heating element to keep the coffee hot, but it will inevitably boil and destroy the flavor over time. Manufacturers don't usually do this. Nice sleek look - it has a stainless steel water compartment instead of a plastic reservoir. Small dimensions Easy to use, beautiful unobtrusive control buttons. Filters (which can affect the taste). It comes with an insert to remove chlorine from the water in the tank, which I didn't use as I have a pipe in my kitchen with a filter for that. With 7 grams of coffee the MT600Plus comes with a 5 gram scoop which I think is better as it equates to 1 scoop for each water level mark so 4 scoops for level 4 which makes 2 cups of coffee. about 9-10 fl oz CON s (nothing major) at a time water is poured from another container (carafe or whatever) into a stationary tank and the level is indicated by a float on the right side of the kettle (from the side seen). Front). If you want to put it on the wall on the right, you have to move the coffee maker a little to see the level. When brewing a small amount of coffee (e.g. 4 "cups" on the tank label, which corresponds to 2 real cups), the water must be added carefully so as not to overdo it. However, when it went from 4 to 5, I just added more coffee grounds. Reading the instructions I was concerned that it would be difficult to position the carafe lid correctly during the brewing process, but it's actually that simple - just twist the lid clockwise until it clicks, then twist approximately to pour half a turn counterclockwise. hour manual. The last 15 seconds of the brewing process gurgle a bit. My previous Capreso was made in Portugal. , it isn't, but it seems well done.
