World's Best: Meet Even Better

I reviewed this product a while ago and was extremely dissatisfied due to tracking and collection issues. I am still against these problems. I can't find my old review but wanted to leave a new one. After a few months I can say that I really like this material. I'm just transitioning from World's Best and Swheat Scoop. I gave up the disappointing Arm & Hammer corn based litter a long time ago and I find the Blue Buffalo litter a little heavy and the odor control is not comparable to this litter. Benefits: - Eliminates odors. Wow. Some of the best I've come across are either natural, clay, or non-natural (like silica-based). It works beautifully without masking strong odors. I have three very large cat boxes; I use "World's Best" (or "Sweat") on two and "Eye" on the other. The first two boxes should be dug up at least once a day and emptied completely after 3-4 weeks. At Oko, I confess I didn't scoop at all for 4-5 days (while I was away). After 5 days without scooping, Oko smells about the same as World's Best or Swheat after 1-2 days - dust. There is no one to speak. I notice this when I vacuum the carpets under the tray. No dust around the Oko box. I thought other "natural" fillers were good at fighting dust, but this one is the best as far as I can tell. - The weight. Fiction. I have a bad back but the bins are lightweight and easy to use. For ecological reasons, I prefer cardboard containers to the world's best plastic bags. I have an eco subscription; Both I and my parcel deliverers have been a lot happier lately. In addition, even heavily used organic litter can be taken out of the box and transported much more easily than other light litter. quality control. I've had moldy batches of World's Best and Swheat. Also, rodents are sometimes attracted to both corn and wheat products. They seem largely uninterested in wood. That is different. With one fussy cat I mixed litters for a few weeks and then moved on to Oko's litter. It doesn't bother mine at all; They don't seem to favor other litters when given a boxing choice. I just don't know how it compares to the other options. I have a personal objection to subsidizing corn, and wheat is problematic on several levels. I don't know enough about Oko's manufacturing process to rate its environmental impact, sustainability, or potential hazards to pets or humans during its manufacture or use. Cons: - Tracking, tracking, tracking. Ironically, it's not a particularly pursued pitch; The problem is that whatever is being tracked is made up of large particles that are highly visible and painful to bare feet (and believe me, you don't want that stuff near your bed). As I don't currently use the long haired version, I have found that many of these stick to my long haired cat's back. I recently ordered a box of the long haired version and will review later. You may need to replace the dustpan. The particles are too large to fit through fine paddles, which usually work well with clumping media. Conclusion: I've tried other wood-based fillers and this is by far the best. In terms of odor control, weight, dust and economy, this is one of the best fillers out there. It could be better but I still give it five stars because I think it's so much better than anything else I've tried. Oh and unfortunately I did NOT get this product for free so this is a truly unbiased review.
