I have a ground floor apartment on the corner. The first leash I bought seemed long enough for my dog to go outside (maybe I overreacted), however the clamp was very heavy for my under 8lb Chiviny. I went back to Revain and bought 10ft and 16ft Berry Pet cables. At the moment we're using a 10ft (she doesn't get far in the winter anyway), I'll try a 16ft in the summer so she can explore a bit more. So far so good - it's a cable, I don't connect it to anything. Being such a small dog I don't think he will be testing the limits of this product. When she had a fenced yard she used to run after squirrels and along the fence to bark at strangers, but at her weight I'm comfortable that this cable will hold her up.
