This sweater is definitely thick. I got almost the same sweater from another brand that didn't have velvet, was more expensive and didn't fit. I chose another brand to order a size up and this one was much better and cheaper. My dog is NOT a big dog. This is a medium sized dog and weighs around 40-45 pounds. She wears 2XL! She doesn't like tight clothes - this one fits perfectly. Keep in mind that these tags are for small dogs. So if you don't have a small lap dog, you should choose one, two or more for your medium to large sized dog.
