Well we are flooded and in the flood lost our light in the hall which we mainly use to see the thermostat. So I didn't think much about beauty. I wanted it to blend in with the rest of the house, but it's just in the hallway, isn't it? Also, the round base had to be big enough to cover the round hole. So I wasn't really expecting much. That is beautiful. Really handsome. Installation was easy enough, although I had to use pliers to attach the bracket while my husband attached the tiny ball to the tiny screw. He just needed extra hands. I don't look at it directly when I turn it on because it's very bright and gives me an aura in front of my eyes. It's a warm light, actually golden. And the lamp itself is very beautiful even when the light is off. I'm very pleased and wish we knew about this before all the drywall is done because I realized it could be used elsewhere.
