Good Sur Ron / Litespeed 72V Slow Charger for road driving without overloading my truck's alternator. My Litepeed 6 amp charger drew about 50 amps! from my truck's alternator so I decided to downsize to this charger. I drive it through my truck's 2500W Aims inverter. Depending on the starting voltage of the 72 volt battery, my inverter draws between 21 and 26 amps from the truck alternator to power this charger. Measured with a kilowatt meter on the wall outlet in my house, it draws 3.2 amps 260 watts to start, and when the battery voltage rises above 80 volts it draws a maximum of 3.65 amps 280 watts. Time will tell if it will hold up, but I won't be using it often as I don't do a lot of traveling with my Sur Ron.
