A good starter set of watercolor pencils

This is a good introduction to watercolor pencils. They apply a good amount of pigment but aren't as rich as the higher quality colored pencils (like Prismacolor) that I usually use to work with colored pencils. They are definitely designed with watercolor in mind. When the pigment is wetted with a little water and a fine brush, it behaves like watercolor paint and becomes transparent. Lighter applied pigment will definitely do, as "lead" is a compressed pigment with light binders. They're soft enough for watercolor, but don't expect solid areas of color with these pens. (I don't use this technique with these pens anyway). To learn the ins and outs of watercolor pencil drawing, I would definitely recommend this brand for beginners, adults or teenagers. I've been working with colored pencils for a long time and I like to experiment with these pencils.
