Works perfectly with Square

My wife is a real estate salesperson so I set it up on Square a little over a year ago to work as a POS terminal with multiple Android tablets. Pretty nice change in the way the "big master tablet" does things, but Square was still a little clunky to use manually when you have a queue of people waiting for yours handles the sale. So I wanted to investigate adding a scanner and barcode system. I tried the "regular" scanner ordered here which was so cheap because I saw most scanners were "plug and play" so I figured they were all about the same. WRONG on my part. Got cheap and Square wouldn't even recognize it. So, more research and more conversations with Square and everything pointed to it. Ordered, didn't really like the price but well if it works it's worth it to me. So plugged it in and Square recognized it immediately. The next step was to create a barcode system that is easy to implement in Dymo (also ordered here). Extremely easy. Hand out barcodes, the reader reads them perfectly, and now we're ready for the race, and whoever manages the register no longer has to search for the right items to enter. This will all be automatic and our reporting will be MUCH more accurate

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • No automatic controls
