Irrigated in a moderate to heavy sand/silt well for 3 years. The design of my setup is not perfect as the sediment does not actually sink to the bottom but sticks higher and quickly clogs the filter, restricting or blocking the flow. I've tried setting the auto flush valve as shown in the picture but the sediment won't flush out until I close the 2" ball valve just after the filter. You can see in the picture that the sediment flush valve is wide open and the outlet pressure is well over 50psi. and the sediment just gets stuck in the filter, blocking the flow. This renders the automatic flush valve useless as I have to intervene manually anyway. However, I get some use out of it by removing the filter, some of the heaviest sediments fling down and get stuck at the bottom. In this case an automatic flush valve will work, but for smaller things you still need to have sediment filters at faucet/drip line level. I would look elsewhere.
