These are actually very good water shoes. They fit snugly around his ankles and feet, and you can adjust them with a velcro strap that runs across his foot and snaps firmly on the other side. My son loves these water shoes and I find them very comfortable for him, they are very flexible and the bottom of the shoe is very durable to play with. He can wear them like tennis shoes but still swim in them and go to the water park. .For all that has been said, I am sorry to say that they are very poorly made. I would have given five stars if the seams hadn't come undone on the first day or two. And the stitching doesn't protrude too much where the shoes are falling apart, but everywhere I look at the shoes the stitching is unraveling in more places than you can count and the elastic that hides the Velcro is cut crooked or worn askew. . Every time he puts his shoes on I have to cut the laces here or there because they just get tangled and unfortunately he won't be able to wear them next year as they will probably fall apart by the end of summer. Summer in Vegas lasts until October so he can wear them for a good 4 months but I bought them a size up so he can wear them next year because they look amazing in the picture. And yes, I read the reviews and saw many reviews that said the shoes were horribly made. But then again, these are great water shoes for just one summer. And you'll have to trim a few strands here and there, but don't count on them to last next year because they won't last long, especially if you wear them every day. After about two months of wearing they're looking a little ugly which is a strong word because I love them so much but they look like they've been worn for years. Too bad the workmanship of these shoes doesn't match their comfort, flexibility and perfect fit.
