These are not tummy control shorts! As for 4-way stretch, this should be a subjective term for a manufacturer-specific description. Usually 4-way stretch material doesn't slide down the leg and after a few minutes of wearing they started to slide down. I also heard some seams pop when I first put them on so we'll see how long they hold up. (And yes, I bought the right size!). They don't see through and are fine, just like a regular old pair of clunky sneakers. I will keep them but only wear them when gardening or gardening. I wouldn't buy them again.
