We have a constant problem with lint clogging the basement sink where the washing machine drains. In the past we have used store bought lint collectors attached to the washing machine drain hose to collect lint, which is a fairly expensive solution - the pack of 2 lint drain filters is $1.99 with zip ties. However, after a charge or two, the filters will become clogged and will need to be removed and cleaned. These filters are made from fine mesh fabric which works well and 0.49 for two packs is a lot cheaper. However, the included zip ties aren't even nearly big enough to hold the filters in place. So remember you will need your own or twisted zip ties to secure the packs which have elasticated tops but they will need some help against the force of the water. I've just washed 3 times without having to clean or remove any bags which is a nice change too. Hopefully over time (I'm way ahead on my wallet) they'll turn out to be a lot better than store bought, even with my own zip ties!
