After reading reviews about paint dripping from gravel I thought it would be ok if I washed the gravel off. I washed and washed and washed. They kept painting. My hands were completely green. I left it in a bowl of water and stirred it with a wooden spoon - my spoon is now stained green. It took hours for the pebbles to become clean. I put a pebble in our tank with our new fish and the fish died within a few hours. The next day we got new fish and they also died within a few hours. I tested my water 3 times in 2 different locations and the readings were great. While I can't guarantee that this gravel is to blame or even toxic, I can't recommend it either because of the chemical discharges! Luckily Revane gave me the money back. Buyer Warning.
