This sorghum litter looks nothing like your typical gray clay litter - it's fine and light brown like sand! We have 5 cats in our family and to start with I gradually replaced our regular litter with this in just ONE of our litter boxes, following the instructions on the back of the package, so we could assess if they were avoiding using the new litter . None of the cats seemed to mind the change, they continued to use this box as normal! The filler works great. It's easy to pick up and clumps just as well as the regular clay litter we normally use - in fact, it clumps BETTER than our regular clay litter when it's hot and humid (our old farmhouse doesn't have air conditioning). . )! with taste. I've always used scented fillers, usually something like a "fresh" scent, but this "Garden Bloom" scent is overpowering and perfumed. To be honest, it stinks to me. It reminds me of the gel air fresheners my grandparents used to keep in the back of the toilet. That doesn't have a positive connotation. My husband doesn't mind the smell, although he thinks it smells more fruity than floral. Bottom line: A good cat litter that also works well in my family of 5 cats, but avoid if you are sensitive to smells.
