Review on πŸ₯£ Escali Primo P115C Precision Kitchen Food Scale for Baking and Cooking, Lightweight and Durable Design, LCD Digital Display, Chrome Finish by Julie Geier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The scale is accurate and consistent

The scale is consistent and accurate. I'm happy with that. Since I don't trust the finishing/varnishing, I don't put food directly on the scale and always use a container. Accuracy: A 1 gram calibration weight purchased from Revain was used; The scale showed 1 gram as the weight. Consistency: I reweighed different items multiple times (leave scale on, turn it on and off, etc.) and the weight of each item was consistent. The scale is very light and the outer material is plastic. . I have the color chrome. The scale has no removable components - the entire scale is one unit. For example, the round platter you put things you want to weigh on isn't removable. If something spills on it, just wipe it off. That means you can't just wash a piece of it in the dishwasher; You just have to wipe the scale. It also means cleanup is easy - there are no nooks and crannies for spills to be difficult to clean up. The round top that you cradle things on has a chrome finish/color that looks and feels like something I wouldn't want. Place food directly on top (will it chip? What is the trim/paint made of?). I asked the manufacturer (escali) and they said there was no lead in the paint/varnish but... I just never put food directly on the scale (like an apple). The manufacturer then directed me to a stainless steel scale add-on they have for the scale, but I chose not to purchase it. The ITare feature is a convenience. I don't normally use it because I just first weigh the container I use for groceries etc that I want to weigh and note its weight so I can subtract it manually in my head. But tare is good: just turn on the scale and then place an empty tare (like a plastic bowl) that you don't want to include in the weight of the food etc you want to weigh on the scale. I see the weight of your empty container, press the tare button (same button as the power button) to have the scale subtract the weight of your container, and . You will see the scale go to 0 with your container on it. You can then simply add the products etc. that you wish to weigh into the bin. You can even remove the container and add what you need and put the container with groceries etc back on the scale. If you want the scale to stop taring that container, simply press the tare button again. Note that if you have turned off the scale and there is something on the scale when you rotate it, the scale will subtract the weight. whatever is on the scale. like that . You want nothing on the scale when you turn it on.

Pros
  • Sealed buttons and display to prevent accidental spills
Cons
  • Anything I can add
