Edited: The radio is great and the customer service is great. I was contacted by Angela from alwaysonline in response to my 3 star review. I would like to emphasize that the rating is not due to the quality or functionality of the radio and does not refer to being always online. I only gave this a 3 star rating because the radio comes pre-programmed with business, GMRS and public safety (police) frequencies and is programmed as broadband FM, neither of which can be used without the correct license. So I would advise anyone who buys these radios to reprogram them to a frequency that you are licensed for prior to transmitting. Plus, it's hard to argue with what you're getting for the price. At less than $12 per radio, this is a very useful product for many purposes. Given the positives I will upgrade this to 4 stars but buyers should be aware of the potential issues. Even if the radio is certified to comply with FCC Part 90, the radios do NOT have the applicable FCC identification number on the manufacturer's label.
