Note - this is a great lock for keeping the backpack locked when traveling - for example to keep other hands off it or to prevent subway-style hooks from attacking what is it is in it. However, there is a simple switch on the back that (even when locked) will open the lock and allow you to change the code. It doesn't work for something you keep locked up and out of sight. They worked well for what I needed, which was an extra lock for my carry-on.
