Wax is too hot even at the lowest temperature. I used Gigi All Purpose Pot Honey. Indeed, if you use a low melting point wax, you will run into problems. I've been an esthetician for almost 20 years now and I can tell you that waxes like Gigi and Clean and Easy are fine if you've mastered the technique and don't have special needs skin. Unfortunately, this pot can burn you. I had to turn off the wax pot before I could wax my clients. It could be a manufacturing defect. The warranty says it's $15 to return and repair, which is a joke since this heater is only $22. You don't have to get warmer. I still have Clean and Easy heaters from 13 years ago and they work well and don't boil if set too low. I gave an extra star because the lid is fully removable which is great for longer waxing services.
