06 tb tcm could not be converted to 4lo. Left me stumped as this was the first time I've used 4lo since buying the car. Reset tccm, check fuses #8 and #48. Removed 2 feet of snow under the driver's door, removed the TCM and found that it had blown. Battery disconnected, engine disconnected and completely removed from the vehicle. Dismantled the encoder cover, gained access to the motor gears and manually moved the motor gear position to approximately dead center to the top of the motor. Encoder cover installed and assembled. Battery in, key on, won't start, shifter in neutral, rode under it with a pair of soft-tooth channel locks and moved the gear case clockwise to disengage the 4lo. Plugged in the engine and dumped it just to move the car to a safer place to work. Ordered a delco AC motor and just replaced it. The problem is solved! Hope this helps someone with 4WD issues. *Note - it is important to service the Xfer body with a fluid change every 50,000 miles.
