You will have a hard time finding a lens that gives you the same sharpness and clarity as this lens at any price. The sides are very nice and using F2 you can really create a narrow depth of field to make your subject stand out. I bought this lens primarily for astrophotography, which it excels at, but I like the way it reproduces color. Although there is a warning here. It doesn't have autofocus, so it's not for everyone. This is for the type of photography where each image is thought out and you have time to play with focus to get it right. The focus ring is very smooth and long, so it's great for fine focusing, but it's not fast. It's not for those fast moving or rapidly changing situations. I love the quality of this lens and for the price I feel like I stole it. He is currently looking at the 85mm and 50mm versions.
