Excellent value for money! for lenses

You will have a hard time finding a lens that gives you the same sharpness and clarity as this lens at any price. The sides are very nice and using F2 you can really create a narrow depth of field to make your subject stand out. I bought this lens primarily for astrophotography, which it excels at, but I like the way it reproduces color. Although there is a warning here. It doesn't have autofocus, so it's not for everyone. This is for the type of photography where each image is thought out andโ€ฆ

Basic lens rating! for lenses

*Sorry for my bottoms and horrible phone photos, I just got off work and was in a hurry to take a nap* **Also not the best explanation for photography lingo since I'm a Amateur* *So first things first - the lens arrived 5 days early. Big cheers! I really expected a delay, especially as I'm currently abroad on business. Kudos Revain.Lens unboxing. It's heavy and seems strong; I definitely have to hold that bad boy down when you shoot. Maybe as 2 pounds alone. Comes in a box that is securelyโ€ฆ

This is a surprisingly affordable lens for its performance. Astrophotographers love it and it's easy to see why on Astrobin. Its telephoto and portrait capabilities are great too. This review is really about the electronic mount option. The A7 (and especially my recently purchased a7ii) is way too heavy for a camera IMO. The A7ii is also one of Sony's heaviest mirrorless cameras. It's doable by hand, with manual assist, lens correction, and focusing. It's actually quite workable, especiallyโ€ฆ

2lb tank delivers images

I bought this lens in February 2015 and paired it with an Olympus OMD E-M5. My first thoughts were to take advantage of the CMOS sensor that adapts the lens to the 270mm equivalent and use it for birding, but after playing around with the lens I have a few reservations which I will describe . The lens is made of metal, glass and durable modern high-impact polymer. There is nothing "plastic" in it. Focusing is manual and is smooth, well-damped and firm. Focusing isn't done by moving a fingerโ€ฆ
