Review on 🏃 ASICS Men's Gel-Contend 5 Running Shoes for Enhanced Performance by Ben Demers

I have a wide foot and need to buy a wider shoe. I ordered the 9.5 X-wide and was blown away by how narrow they are. I had to return them but I have a pair of professional shoe trees that helped a lot. After reaching a comfortable width, they became very comfortable. However, a few months later, I noticed something on my left boot that looked like my toe was going through the mesh upper, and I didn't have long toenails and no holes in my socks. The mesh that the shoes are made of was torn and I literally had to use a needle and strong thread to mend things. It helped, but it doesn't look good, although the thread matches the dark gray color of the shoes. Now, a few months later, it's happening on my right shoe, as well as my big toe and pinky finger. As much as I love the style, color and everything about the look of these shoes, I'm very disappointed that they didn't hold up better. I have never owned a pair of athletic shoes but I mentioned this to a friend and he complained about the same thing but I'm not sure which brand he had this experience with. My advice: get the widest version of these and if they don't fit, return them for something else. Now I want to buy another pair but it won't be the Asics brand although I really like the style.
