I love the look and the size and might like it. But as you can hopefully see in the photo, the thread is only one and a half turns and not very deep. Due to the thin metal and loose fit, the lid is not securely attached. You don't twist it tight (everything spins), you pull it off almost effortlessly and salt collects between the lid and jar. The lid will probably never fall off, but for something I'll be using frequently for years, I need a more durable product. That being said, 1) the holes are fairly large and ideal for coarsely ground peppers, but the salt comes out quickly so be careful, 2) the lids are flat, matte, not chrome or stainless steel. When I ordered them, I also ordered a pair that were a few bucks cheaper and had shiny stainless steel lids that screwed on tightly and actually looked prettier, cleaner, and more kitchen-ready than the flat, matte finish that almost looks dusty. .
