That's very what you want.

I really liked this device, no one has rated this product yet so I wanted to come and review my use very quickly. (Make a short video of some retro footage captured with this device (NeoGeo, SNES, Genesis)) This is a great device, it supports 1080p at 60fps. This is very convenient and zero latency is real. How it works? Simply connect the HDMI you have connected to your TV to the output of this box and use the supplied HDMI and connect the IN to your device you wish to record, insert the supplied USB stick into your computer and you're good to go. (Download OBS, it's free, no software required from this company) You can play on both your PC and your TV, it doesn't matter, no lag, no lag, nothing to really screw you up . In my case, I'm using a high refresh rate portable monitor that was playing some retro games that I wanted to record. The package does not include any software or links, it is not really needed, you will be using OBS Studio. that supports live streaming and video recording is very simple, easy and free. It takes some time to set up, not difficult at all. Well things like Playstation and Switch work as expected with no issues (1080p and 60fps!). This is a dream. I decided to get my Pi that I built for my daughter last year and take some pictures with it and see how it works. It's the only device I've had an issue with (easy enough to fix). With a special wearable display that I used without video recording, everything worked fine, no modifications needed, very smooth experience. I thought recording this video would be as easy as with my other stuff, but this caused some problems, which I will explain below how I solved it (if you are using retro pi) (go to raspberry pi -Configuration, advanced settings, go to audio, enable HDMI). Otherwise, after booting into the UI, the volume drops to 0, and it was annoying to understand Sound recording was a bit problematic (not a problem with this particular device, but with all devices like this "MiraBox"), not much documentation or online help (at least not what I could find with a quick search, only those who have the same problem), but the resolution was basic (maybe why no one answered), the audio is not coming from the video capture device, but changing Instead, select the "Microphone" option when you go to MiraBox and it will work as you expect. The video quality is amazing, no lag even with upconversion. great experience. When I want to capture footage of some retro games I use a portable display connected to this device. Very little overhead is required. Of course, I wasn't trying to record voice-over work or edit video (I'm new to this style of recording and setup, I've used capture cards that used S-Video and component in the past), but I got one clean HDMI signal is obviously much better. Can't wait to keep playing and working on some edits. The device didn't heat up after a couple of hours, I didn't have any bad experiences at all (except that I was starting to get used to OBS, but everyone will experience that, getting used to it can take 10-20 minutes ). Pros: 1080p with 60fps recording Compact form factor, comes with everything you need (1 USB, 1 HDMI, box) The device lets you do what you want without getting in each other's way Cons: Little help with the Setup (not really required but some may have difficulties, I haven't read manuals, never used OBS, installation and launch took 5 minutes max) 1080p and 60 fps but no 4k (not a minus actually as there is no feature of this device is, I might care less about capturing 4k frames from something like that, so I didn't flag it for that). Computer and shoot without quality loss, this device is for you, it's fast, you don't need to buy expensive software. If you want to stream your PS4 and open Twitch on your laptop, this is handled seamlessly. If you want to hook up your old systems (assuming you've added the right converters or mods with some retro HDMI-capable hardware) and record them in all their glory, you can't go wrong here. Getting something like this online is always risky, especially without reviews. I've been looking for something like this for over a year and looked at several options, just didn't pull the trigger, glad I went with this one as it made everything as easy as possible. Highly recommended. PS OBS exports in MKV format by default (I love mkv). If you sign up for Adobe Creative Cloud and use Premier, you know that MKV will not be supported after 2019 version update because there is a feature in OBS. who can remix them for you (file -> remix records) and then everything is fine.
