Didn't know why my new vevor universal diesel air heater failed after the first start. I tested it in my camp during the day knowing it would be almost cold in the evening. Worked well - run it at max power for 30 minutes to let it run a bit and get rid of any production fumes. Then of course when I really needed it, a few hours after sunset, it failed with glow plug code E-03. . I wasn't sure what to blame for this as the item was brand new a few hours ago. Decided to start with that rather than messing with MOSFETs and whatnot. Took the old one off and found a crack at the top. I don't know how it got there, I didn't open the heater housing until I installed a new plug a few minutes ago. It caught fire anyway and I'm making another super hot start for a long time. time now I'll keep a few of these on hand in the future, it would be an easy field fix and I'd have a much warmer night hike if I had a spare. In my case, all I need is a tool (supplied with this connector) and an appropriately sized hex wrench to remove a small panel in the heater housing. The same hex key can be used to turn the special socket that you will receive.
